  Our fixed shower head filter has a 5,000-gallon filter life. For most households, this translates to a replacement every 6 months. Keep in mind, factors like hard or highly contaminated tap water, as well as heavy usage, can require more frequent replacements.

  You can also keep an eye on color: once the filter media changes from its original golden hue to dark grey or black with white beads, it's time for a replacement.
